The Snake Charmer | 19th Thessaloniki Documentary Festival

The Snake Charmer  documents what happens when India’s Bollywood movie superstar Aamir Khan decides to expose his country’s deepest social ills

In a three-year-long backstage chase of Aamir Khan’s television programme  Satyamev Jayate (Truth Alone Triumphs) the film vividly records his extraordinary journey of creating a groundbreaking TV show to bring about social change in India.

Now in its third season, the show’s focus on sensitive social issues prevalent in India such as female foeticide, child sexual abuse, rape, honour killings, domestic violence, untouchability, alcoholism and the criminalization of politics reaches an audience of more than 600 million Indians and generated more than one billion impressions online.

Heartfelt congratulations to Nina Maria Paschalidou, the film’s director and writer for her perseverance, professionalism and dedication in seeing this through to completion.

A must see and look out for it at the International Documentary Film festival in November 2017!
